The blackberry Torch is the newest and the best instalment RIM have brought out to date, the torch 9800 carries many improvements on previous models, these improvements include the best camera RIM have placed on any blackberry unit, this phone is the first slider blackberry have released and it is the first dual touch screen and qwerty keyboard phone available.
The 9800 Torch is the first realistic attempt RIM has come up with to catch up with the smart phone front runners such as the Apple IPhone, The Android driven HTC Desire and the Samsung Galaxy S. And i have to say that the blackberry torch is a very capable phone, the touch screen is very responsive, and with the new blackberry 6 operating system navigation and application usage is very fast. The blackberry is still the best work phone out of them all, email integration between phone and computer is simple and a joy to use, and with the built in Microsoft readers and editors you can compile word documents from your phone.
There are some small areas where i feel the torch is still lagging behind though, the screen is not a big as many other smart phones, and although its resolution is very high phones like the IPhone have a crisper display. I would also have to say that the blackberry is very heavy for a phone and in all honesty with the slider i cannot see it being a durable as some of the competition.
Round up
if you are a avid blackberry user this phone is perfect, it is by far the best blackberry on the market and is as good as nearly all its competitors, if you are also a new customer who really wants there phone to be a work tool then this has also got to be the phone the combination of the touch screen and the qwerty keyboard are a joy for letter writing, and the easy link up between computer and blackberry make it easy to view edit and create pieces of work. On the other hand if you are looking for a phone to use purely for a game centre and to show you how the current football scores are i would still have to recommend the Iphone 4.
